Warrington Rylands defeated Ossett United 4-0 to progress into the second round of the Isuzu FA trophy
Leslie Adekoya got the pivotal goal for Rylands in the 94th minute from a Jake Danies shot which was deflected onto Adekoya, who slotted it in for the fourth.
Jake Daniels did however get a late one the in the 89th minute from another Burton shot, Man of the Match Daniels finally got one after a wonderful performance from the number 11.
Daniels played a sublime effort today out on the wings, his runs and shots on goal’s pressured Ossett giving them a tough time away at The Hive Arena.
Ben Hardcastle got the opener for the blues when the ball came to him from an Ossett clearance in the 38th minute, he then curled it beautifully from 20 yards out scoring a screamer for the blues.
The evening got brighter for Rylands when a corner was whipped in from Hardcastle, which found the header for George Waring in the 42nd minute, getting his first goal for the club.
The number five almost got the opener in the 21st minute, when the cross was floated in and Waring slipped it in the net, however Referee Ashley Royston blue the whistle for offside.
“He’s a threat in both boxes, he’s a National League player, he’s been there and done it,” Reno spoke on Waring’s performance today.
Rylands dominated the game throughout, especially in the first 45, with the blues getting chance after chance, giving the keeper Aleksander Petrovic a good test between the two sticks.
The win today gets Neil Reynolds his first home win and it also means this is the furthest Rylands have ever progressed in FA trophy.
Burton returned to The Hive Arena today after being unavailable for two months from a hip injury, the forward played well today considering the time out he has had.
Rylands could have made the scoreline even more devastating today after two missed sitters from Will Russ in the 90th minute who hit just wide of the post.
The other chance made the whole stadium think it was set to be a fifth for Rylands, when the ball was squared over to Leslie Adekoya for an open net, but he flunked it wide.
Rylands face first division North side Skelmersdale United on Tuesday night at 7:45pm in the Liverpool County Cup at The Hive Arena, in hopes to also progress into the next round.
“I want to win all the time, doesn’t matter if it’s against my son or in the county cup,” Reno said.
Rylands now back to winning ways, hopefully for Reno’s side the season can turn back around and give the fans a good season.
