Guiseley AFC 0-2 Warrington Rylands FC

A 0-2 victory away at Guiseley has all but guaranteed that Warrington Rylands will be in the play-offs, needing just one more win from the remaining three matches to seal their place.

Nearly 600 spectators saw Momodou Touray and Dan Cockerline both net in the second half at a very windy Nethermoor Park with Luke Pilling keeping yet another clean sheet.

Playing against the wind in the first half was deemed to be a tough challenge for The Blues, although they were rarely threatened by a side that lost its manager earlier this week.

The second half, however, was completely different. Whether they adapted better to the conditions or Interim Manager Sam Wilson gave a good half-time talk is irrelevant.

The Lions stood firm against a more creative side but after 65 minutes of an exciting battle, Djavan Pedro held up play long enough for leading scorer Mo Touray to finish in style, beating Oliver Battersby and his resolute defence in the way we’ve seen on many occasions.

Wilson made some decisive changes as the match progressed bringing on Dan Cockerline for Mo Touray.

The victory was secured on 90 minutes when James Butler headed the ball down for Cockerline to knock into the back of the net with his first touch.

We welcome Lancaster City to The Hive Arena in Gorsey Lane next Saturday and hope we can do better than the 0-0 draw at The Giant Axe back in October.
